We now have a more in-depth look at the new ATI
We now have a more in-depth look at the new ATI Radeon Pro Duo, to make it even more useful.
According to Jon Peddie Research, AMD and Nvidia shipments are expected to remain in line in 2018, with no significant change in performance, but at a substantially lower prices than this year.
The card’s biggest impact will likely be seen at the lower end of the market. Competing against NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080, Radeon Pro Duo could be a tough sell. While the price of the two boards will be similar, Nvidia offers lower power consumption, and is generally viewed as the better performer.
On the other hand, the Radeon Pro Duo supports new features such as ray tracing that no other card yet offers. AMD wants to differentiate Radeon Pro Duo from its Nvidia equivalents and achieve market share with its technology, rather than pricing.
The AMD Radeon Pro Duo will be the newest member of the Radeon Instinct family. It is built on the 14 nm FinFET process and is based on the Polaris architecture.

3DMark time?
I used to be an enthusiastic 3DMark testbed. A year ago I only just started getting into them, now they make up half of my benchmarking tasks. So here I go with the latest test results, including my thoughts on the latest release.
The Fire Strike benchmark introduced in March this year can be found on the VideoCardz.com database for review.
Fire Strike
This is a substantial update to 3DMark Fire Strike, offering significant performance improvements over the previous version.
The higher frame rate and higher resolution show the benefits of the new GCN 4.2 architecture and the RDNA graphics cores. The overall performance is an improvement of between 22% and 35% over the last generation of hardware, with peak performance on the RX 470 card being 6% faster than a stock RX 460. There is a good mix of AMD and NVIDIA cards here, and the RX 550 is in good company with the RX 560, RX 470 and RX 460, with the RX 580 being even faster than the RX 480.
The most interesting result for me here is the difference between the RX 480 and RX 580. be359ba680
